About MultiMedicus MultiMedicus is a pioneer in the development and delivery of healthcare information products and systems for patients, providers and professionals. Launched in Norway in 2001 by two brothers, Dr. Lars Petter Skranes and Dr. Jon Skranes, both pediatricians, MultiMedicus was created to deal with the growing incidence of non-urgent emergency room use by Norwegian parents as well as their lack of knowledge about childhood illnesses and appropriate care. After extensive research, the brothers concluded that while there were many resources available to parents, most were hard to use, hard to understand, often inaccessible, and often confusing. Their efforts to solve these problems led them to form MultiMedicus and develop the Child Health Guide. It took approximately four years to collect and edit the videos. During that time, they also experimented with language and website design in order to make the information truly accessible and understandable to parents. In 2005, MultiMedicus began exploring the possibility of creating an English language version for the American market, an exploration that led to the establishment of a relationship with the Harvard Health Publications Division of Harvard Medical School, School’s Harvard Health
Publishing, which publishes health information for the general public in books, newsletters, newspaper columns, magazines and on the Internet.
